The Joy of Foster Care

Our Plight is all about Foster care and creating awareness about foster care. We are VERY aware of foster care in our home. But not just today. Every day. Because this isn’t just a word for us. It’s not just a day. It’s our life. We spend each moment aware of what foster care means to us. It means welcoming a stranger into our home, and seeing that child become a part of our family. It means knowing you give your whole heart to that child, but being aware that it’s not permanent and it might shred your heart to pieces when you have to say goodbye. It means we sit up night after night with a child who has night terrors. Or who has an eating disorder. Or any number of challenges which accompanies the pain the child usually endures before finding a safe haven in our foster home. But nothing can describe the love, the laughter, the warmth and the closeness we as a family experience. Our togetherness isn’t like it is in most homes. Our togetherness brings healing to so many broken little lives. But it also heals us. It also touches us in ways we will never be able to describe with a few words. But it is us who are privileged to have these children in our hearts, in our home. It’s not like many think, the child’s privilege to find a warm loving home with us. No the child comes and changes us. Blesses us and gives us joy! We are privileged to be FOSTER PARENTS.
